Ramanavami is celebrated in remembrance of Lord Rama on the day of his birthday. It falls on Navami โ the ninth day counted from the Full Moon day in the Tamil month of Chiththirai (April-May). It is a day of devotion, reflection, and simplicity.
As with most festivals in our tradition, Ramanavami is accompanied by its own set of special foods โ humble, cooling, and purposeful for the summer season:
These three together are considered the offering of Ramanavami โ simple ingredients prepared with care.
